Streetwear produced from strictly 3D-designed clothes for a more sustainable future.

Digital fashion is a growing niche that opens new horizons for creative expression and allows both designers and audiences to experiment with their imaginations. While utilizing digital fashion-wear methods, we are able to reduce the total number of unnecessary garments being produced within the industry significantly – saving time, and money, as well as reducing the overall environmental footprint.

Our community will be able to create, submit, and vote on the 3D designs and pieces for the next collection. Designs created can be tied to future use in the Metaverse, where anonymity gives people the opportunity to express multiple and often unexplored aspects of the self,  play with and try new identities.

For a long time, I have always been interested in creating typographic designs for t-shirts or sweatshirts. I was intrigued to discover how my design style and thinking could be applied to clothing — and the forms created on real garments within the world of fashion, a secondary passion of mine.

In order to start somewhere where I’m familiar with and a piece of clothing that’s familiar, I decided to start my streetwear brand with sweatshirts.

The sweatshirt is seen as a utilitarian piece of clothing; it provides a familiar and inclusive silhouette for every gender, in which the fit and cut can be manipulated in order to explore your current identity, to whichever one pleases, in the physical world and in the virtual world.

After conducting research on themes, colorways, and styles of sweatshirts succeeding on the market, I drafted up some sketches and measurements. I then headed over to CLO. CLO is a 3D fashion design software that reproduces the actual garment making process. The software creates 2D pattern pieces and sews them to create true-to-life, 100% accurate 3D pieces. Once I learned CLO, and adjusted my design, I was able to send the garment measurements, mockups, and digital files to a manufacturer to have them created.

For the final display, the actual form of the garment was highlighted. With high quality in material, weight, and wash, the sweatshirts designs were shown virtually to highlight the enhanced creativity available in the virtual world.
