- UNIVERSITY DESIGN PROJECTS -

feel free to scroll down and view each one!

a cover that relates visually to the project is required for each

figure ground

using only four fonts and one letter in each box, create a coherent, free-flowing design that utilizes the figure-ground principles - include the individual shapes used.

contrast and composition

using only two letters for each composition, create a dynamically engaging and creative design that incorporates both contrasting and similar elements, details, and principles.

expressive typography

using one word and being as least illustrated as possible, create 10 compositions that express the meaning of words using typography. do so by composing the word on the page in such a way that its composition reflects its meaning. (break, collide, and top were required words)

image and letter

in a side-by-side fashion, explore the integration between type and image. working with photographs and letterforms, find images that are appealing to you and are capable of incorporating type to the overall composition that creates a visually interesting dynamic and flow.

designing with type

organize the text provided - an excerpt from an article by Paul Rand - on the page in ways that create strong compositions. your compositions must be dynamically balanced, have a clear hierarchy, a clear entry point of reading, and they must engage the picture plane in all corners.
